Precision Frameworx

Precision Frameworx

We are sitting here in the office of Precision Frameworx in Calgary. Brent and Terry have just returned from the 11th Annual Los Angeles Calendar Show sponsored by White Brothers and Performance Machine. Saturday night Bikernet.com (which is owned by Bandit from Easyriders Magazine) hosted a bash for all the show's participants.

The guys were down to the show basically for a greet n' meet and some product evaluation. The highlights for Brent were the new customs and products, and the opportunity to meet some of his fellow custom fabricators.

Roger Goldammer, from Kelowna was there with his aluminum one-piece G-Force billet front ends. As Brent put it, this guy is one of a kind. While in the area they also took in some of the local shops such as Jesse James' West Coast Choppers and Bartell's Harley-Davidson.

When I asked Terry the same question, he replied, "The bikes, babes, and beach!" Being a calendar show, there were obviously plenty of pretty women around and Terry managed to find a group of Hooter girls to hang with. Location is always important and this show was situated right along a beautiful stretch of the beach.

Back in Calgary, Precision builds high quality custom frames and bikes. This trip south shows their commitment to being on the cutting edge of custom bike building. In the World of Wheels this past March the top bike in the show was built on one of their frames. The 3rd place went to a bike that one of their total creations.

Their shop is located at Bay #12, 5915 - 40 Street S.E., Calgary. Precision Frameworx stock a variety of custom parts, fenders, and tanks along with their own frames. They also sell West Coast Chopper and Crime Inc. apparel and have plans to add other product lines on a continuing basis.

Terry has his own personal project bike sitting on the show room floor that he is working on as time allows. Looking around their shop I can see he will be awhile getting his ride finished. There is a ½ dozen bikes in various stages of completion on the shop floor. They also have four frame jigs along one side of the shop. Brent tells me that the turn around time on a custom built frame is usually ten days.

Terry also reminded me that they build their own custom tanks and metal fabrication. "If you can't buy it, we'll make it. The American dream at Canadian prices." They are already taking bookings for this winter so if you are planning on your dream bike, quit thinking about it and give these guys a call.

The featured frame is Precision's Rigid frame c/w a 43 degree neck, ten inch up stretch and a two inch stretch on the backbone. It will fit up to a 250 tire and comes with no seat post.

This shop is just another fine example of the quality of workmanship that is available right here in Canada. No longer are we forced to order from the US of Eh, wait months for our delivery, and lose 50% of our money on the exchange rate.

To finish this article, I'd like to use another stolen quote, "Custom bikes aren't expensive, they are priceless".
